Dear Mark & Howard,

I wanted to take a minute and personally thank you and your team for playing your part in completing a very successful project with DONG Energy in St Asaph. As you know, the Burbo Bank Ext Onshore Substation is an extremely complex yet critical link in the whole windfarm generation & transition asset with huge offshore dependencies. The Brenig Team were fundamental in reaching the civil & building projects safely on time, within budget, and to the required quality.

These fast track projects carry the potential for large reward but has an equal measure of risk which can create a pressure cooker type of environment. We have had many challenges and Brenig remained unfazed, focused and committed throughout the 2 years’ construction and HV installation phase, and stayed on top of the many challenges that came our way. The participation and flexibility of your site tram to facilitate and manage the changes by other party’s scopes was exemplary.

We in DONG Energy were very impressed by the external factors that we rarely see a company embrace let alone lead as Brenig did with stakeholder management, sustainability and local content. It was a real pleasure to work with such a diligent young professional team of individuals and I certainly would recommend your organization and I will certainly call upon you again to help me out. The future of the industry is very bright with Brenig leading the way and setting an example that others would do well to follow.

Brenig Construction were employed by Balfour Beatty on the Burbo Bank project to undertake the infrastructure work associated with the on-shore sub-station.

The project was of a complex nature with many challenges to be navigated during the course of the 2 year project.  Brenig Construction excelled when faced with many of these site issues and always approached each task with a pro-active and open minded attitude.  The success of the project is a credit to both Brenig Construction as a company and also the individuals which worked on this prestigious scheme.

Balfour Beatty pride themselves on insisting on the highest levels of safety within the construction industry and I am pleased to say that Brenig embraced these processes and procedures and played a significant part in the many safety associated awards which the project received during the construction phase.

Brenig Construction completed the works on time and on budget and it is a credit to the Brenig team given the fast track programme and the many critical milestones which could not be delayed due to third party and external factors.

I would not hesitate in recommending Brenig Construction to Clients which are considering employing Brenig on their projects.

“The Gerddi Heulwen development in West Rhyl project is the most substantial housing project in Wales.  The Welsh Government along with its primary partners, Denbighshire County Council and Pennaf Housing Group’s aim to tackle housing deprivation in a key area of West Rhyl with the aim of creating a momentum for change. Since the designation of the North Wales Coast Regeneration Area by the Welsh Government in October 2008, work began to improve housing conditions and following the development of the West Rhyl Masterplan, areas that require intervention by the public sector were identified.
The resulting West Rhyl Housing Improvement Project aims to redevelop the housing offer by creating a range of new housing types and housing tenures that will in time attract a more balanced population. Following consultation while developing the masterplan, it became clear that West Rhyl residents were also eager to see some green space introduced into the area. The project proposals therefore also include plans to demolish a street block centred on Gronant Street and a part of Aquarium Street to provide space for a new urban park.
Brenig Construction Ltd were the successful contractor to construct the green space (Gerddi Heulwen) and from the very start of the project have shown without exception a willingness to work with a strong emphasis on partnership.  The project value was £1.2 million.
Their Contract Manager and Site Foreman were always prepared to go above and beyond the parameters of their remit but in a way which had no detriment to the project.  Their community sensitive approach was commendable and the project was delivered under budget programme.  They were always mindful that the project was grant funded and as such was budget limited and aimed at all times to deliver value for money utilizing innovative ideas for value engineering.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Brenig Construction for civil and landscaping projects.”

“Brenig Construction were successfully appointed as a partnering contractor for the Peulwys Environmental Improvement Scheme back in September 2013. The scheme was a pioneering project for Cartrefi Conwy following the successful completion of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard programme in December 2012. The Environmental project was seen within the organisation as a hugely innovative scheme and something that has never been carried out to this scale in the past. It was taking the Environmental Improvement programme to a new level and something that would transform the physical nature of the estate to a highly desirable place to live following a successful external wall insulation project to over 260 properties.
The £1.1m environmental project has been designed over a period of 12 months with various consultation events taking place with tenants on a host of design principles such as forming new roads, landscaping, parking bays and creative features. In partnership with Brenig Construction we are very proud to say that the scheme has been a huge success. The project, which was a 9 month programme, has run on time and on budget with high levels of tenant satisfaction along the way. Using Brenig’s level of expertise within civil engineering we have also been able to adapt original designs and create value engineering solutions on certain aspects of the scheme to use the budget provision elsewhere to create further innovative solutions such as playground facilities and further landscaping features.
There is no doubt in my mind that I would utilise the services of Brenig again for similar schemes and that they would be a great asset to any client wishing to procure their services. A very professional company who produce quality workmanship and high levels of customer and client care.”

Cartrefi Conwy

“We have employed Brenig Construction over recent years in relation to section 278 highway improvements and an attenuation scheme in Phase 2 of our housing scheme in Llandudno Junction. From the outset Brenig have displayed substantial commitment and applied the highest standards in terms of a quality end product, professionalism and management/health and safety.
Their involvement in the early stages of our schemes has enabled them to contribute significantly to improving commerciality through design input, value engineering and ensuring that schemes are delivered within or ahead of programme and within budget.
Brenig Construction incorporate high quality systems and procedures and deliver a level of service which we have only ever experienced from large companies. Their potential for growth is therefore immense. We have utilised Brenig’s expertise to help manage our own projects, to audit health and safety/environmental issues and to push to improve efficiency.
We will not hesitate to use Brneig in the future and I am sure that their standing in the industry will grow and grow.”

“We have been impressed from the outset with how Brenig Construction have demonstrated their professionalism, capability and commitment to the project. The company understand exactly what is required and have established that, not only do they have the ability to deliver current projects to a high standard but, they also have the capacity and management strategies in place for larger works in the future.
Brenig Construction’s ability to work well within our own framework with respect to Health & Safety, environmental procedures and best practice illustrates they are committed to delivering a quality service without compromise. They are innovative in the way they provide solutions whilst taking into consideration, and working within, financial and timing implications.
Through their overall attention to detail and ability to deliver a quality end product it is evident that Brenig Construction is a company which will continue to grow from strength to strength.

“We worked with Brenig Construction on two projects as part of our Conwy Connections improvements to the visitor facilities at RSPB Conwy nature reserve.
Brenig constructed a stone raft and brick foundation for The LookOut, a building made of straw-bales. The specification was very precise and the work was undertaken in the midst of other contractors working in an adjacent area. We were pleased that Brenig Construction were open to the foundation design – which required the use of lime mortar for the bricks – and were flexible in the way they worked with the other contractors.
The second job was to resurface our car park within a very strict budget, and we were pleased both with the professional advice we received during the planning stage and the approach that Brenig staff took to the construction, very aware of the cost restrictions. Both projects are now complete and we’re very pleased with the workmanship and Brenig’s tidyness. More importantly, our thousands of visitors each month are also delighted with the results.”

― Julian Hughes, Rheolwr warchodfa/Reserve Manager

We look forward to continuing our relationship with them in the future and would highly recommend them.”
