Rocklands, in the picturesque Esgyryn Bryn Pydew, is a one-off property built to high-specifications. With luxury modern living in mind, the property has panoramic views over the river Conwy and Carneddau Mountains beyond. Built on the site of a post-war bungalow, this project was carried out in partnership with Brenig Homes who acquired the site and won planning.
Bryn Isa is a development of 4, four and five-bedroom properties, ranging in size from 2,000 to 3,000sq ft, in a gated community in the village of Glan Conwy. Like Rocklands, these properties all have large balconies with stunning views of the valley, as well as interior finishes of the highest spec, double-garages and multiple en-suite accommodation.
We built access to the balconies from each bedroom to make the most of the views, also ensuring the living space would benefit, with huge panoramic windows facing the valley.
Bryn Isa’s houses are built in an ‘upside down’ configuration, set into the slope of the hill, with living spaces and kitchen on the first floor, accessible from the front door, and bedrooms below.
The houses are finished in a mix of render and cedar wood cladding, in a striking design by Base architects that manages to remain sympathetic to the natural surroundings.
Inside, the layout is open plan with light, airy living spaces, Siematic kitchens with granite worktops and Neff appliances. The bathrooms all feature underfloor heating and Porcelanosa fittings.
As part of the project at Bryn Isa, Brenig repaired the Grade II listed Church House roof in Glan Conwy, adding new Welsh slates without charge.
The builds were finished on time and within budget, with Rocklands taking under 18 months from beginning to completion.
