Berth Y Glyd

A new development on the edge of the North Wales countryside, in partnership with Cartrefi Conwy. 17 new homes for social housing, comprising two-bed apartments and three and four-bed town houses.

About This Development

The requirement was for high-quality family homes and apartments for social rent, with some specially adapted to accommodate residents with disabilities. The location was a sloping plot adjoining an existing residential area, on the Peulwys estate in Old Colwyn.

How we helped

In order to cause as little disturbance as possible, plans were reconfigured to reduce the amount of excavation into rock under the site. We erected acoustic barriers, limited the use of heavy excavating machinery to off-peak hours and remained in constant dialogue with residents, keeping them informed of our schedules.

The Impact & Results

During the build, Brenig sponsored the Hallowe’en disco at the local school, as well as helping to organise a parade for children from the area, using recycled material from the site.
